Tradeshow Terms

These are some common terms used in the tradeshow industry. If you have any questions about these terms, please feel free to contact us for assistance.

10' Display - A 10' Display is a tradeshow display that is made to fill 10 linear feet along a wall. While the booth may be expandable to larger, most booth spaces limit you to the size you pay for. A 10' booth space is a common size for many tradeshows, making a 10' display a good size for many companies.

10' x 10' Display - A combination fo a 10' Display and an island, a 10' by 10' booth space is designed to give more functionality than a standard wall display. A customer can be drawn into your display and be surrounded by your marketing messages.

20' Display - Much like a 10' Display, a 20' Display is a linear display used to fill your booth space. a 20' display is usually approximately 20' wide by 8' tall. They can be made of a variety of materials and constructed a number of different ways.

20' x 20' Tradeshow Display - A larger version of the 10' x 10' Tradeshow Display, the 20' x 20' is a combination of a wall display and islands or kiosks. Banner Stand - A banner stand is a tall, thin stand (usually made of a flexible but strong aluminum or plastic) that holds a graphic vertically. These stands are great for creating big impact without a lot of money.

Booth Space - The allocated area in a tradeshow that your display is to fit in. Some common booth spaces are 8', 10', 10' x 10', 20' or 20' x 20'. That said, many shows offer additional options, such as endcap spacing, corner spacing, longer walls or larger areas. You'll want to have a booth that can be transformed to fit any of the booth space sizes allocated to you.

Carrying Cases - Our tradeshow cases are both stylish and strong. Made from high impact material, these cases are available with or without wheels and in both hard and soft varieties. We carry cases for any of our displays and can also custom build a case to fit your needs.

Conservation Displays -With many of our customers being in the environmental safety and energy conservation markets, we find our Conservation Displays to be a great fit. Like an FLEXi display, the conservation displays are modular, expandable and very effective for your marketing campaigns.

Convention Center - Sometimes called an exposition center, or expo center, a convention center is a large building where conventions, conferences, festivals or trade shows are held.

Demo Tables - A demo table is a portable formed display that is used for demonstrations, vending or information exchange. These are an indoor or outdoor application and are lightweight and portable.

Exhibit - An exhibit is another word for a display. They two terms are used interchangeably.

Exhibition Centers - Exhibitors are trade show display presenters. If you're here to buy a display, you're an exhibitor! While exhibitors do a variety of things, most of them set up tradeshow booths, present information to prospects, collect information from prospects and otherwise interact with tradeshow attendees.

Exposition Center - Sometimes called a convention center, or expo center, a convention center is a large building where conventions, conferences, festivals or trade shows are held.

Fabric Selection - Among the options we offer on the FLEXi displays are a choice of carpet color. Our fabric is a high grade all weather carpet. Easily cleanble and damage resistant, these carpets are both fashionable and strong. When ordering please add the color you want to use to your cart.

Fiber Optic Signage - Strands of fiber optic material are made into signage to add pulsing light to your presentations. This signage type is expensive, but impressive.

Flexi Display Marketing - The parent company that owns flexidisplay.com, manufactures and sells Flexi Tradeshow displays and prints all of the graphics and other materials involved in flexidisplay.com.

Flexi Thins - FLEXi Thins are panels made with a thin (1.5") thickness compared to our standard panels (3") thickness. They are carpeted on one or both sides and can be used in applications where thin panels are appropriate.

Graphic Design - Graphic Design is the art of taking pictures, words and ideas and using them to get your message across. We're pros at it! We have a full-time design staff here for all of your design and printing needs.

Kiosk - A kiosk is a special kind of display that is built to draw customers to it for the purpose of interacting. Most kiosks are built on multimedia platforms including computers, televisions, handouts and literature on the product or service being offered. Generally, a kiosk is not as large as many wall displays but can still be very impactful.

Laminated Displays - Completely custom forms designed of a pressed laminate, these displays be look as simple or wild as you need. Each design is done to fit the needs of the customer exactly. Over 200 laminates available and forms in thousands of shapes.

LCD Monitors - LCD, or Liquid Crystal Display, Monitors are used in many of our displays. Besides being lightweight (between 2 and 10 pounds, depending on size), they are also very clear and have connections for your computer, DVD player and other sources. Available in SDTV (standard definition) or HDTV (high definiton) as needed.

Light Boxes - We carry several styles of lightboxes, both for inside FLEXi displays and as standalone displays. These include free standing lighted booths, wall hanging pieces, surface mount lighted pieces and window panel mounted lights.

Lobby Display - While many tradeshow displays are used on the trade show floor, many are also used as semi-permanent fixtures in lobby, showroom or reception areas. We can craft any FLEXi display into the perfect lobby exhibit for you.

Modular Display - A modular display is a tradeshow display that is constructed of modules, similar to lego blocks, that can be rearranged, expanded on and grown as your needs grow. A Flexi display is a good example of a modular display.

Pop-Up Display - Often called a "POP Display" or "Pop Up" or "Pop-Up Display", these displays are made of a skeleton frame that expands from a folded form into a wall. These displays tend to be impractical for most uses as they don't grow with your needs and tend to be complicated to construct and use.

Printed Paper Signage - Printed Paper Signage, Banners and Posters: A variety of posters, signs, banners and other paper-based products can be printed for your display. This is the least expensive option and is often used. Paper can be printed in different thicknesses, finishes, ink types and styles. Die cutting is available in many cases. Paper can be done using several processes and these processes can be mixed and matched.

Signage - Signage is any combination of graphic design, printed material, banners and signs used to deliver message. As we have a complete graphic design department in-house and do most of our printing, we have control over the entire process and ensure you'll have signage you love.

Slat Wall - Slat Wall refers to store fixtures that feature walls with sections cut out for hanging a special connector. These connectors can be made to hold very heavy items because of the strength of the slat wall construction.

Stretch Your Dollars - We use the term "Stretch Your Dollars" in reference to putting large mural graphics between sections of panel. This allows you to have a larger display with less panels, creating a large mural that covers any gaps.

Tabletop Display - A Tabletop Display is a tradeshow display used on a table. These can be made to fit 4 foot, 6 foot or 8 foot tables, depending on your needs. While this display is small, it can also be high impact.

Trade Show - A Trade Show is a meeting of people in similar industries to interface with their customers, meet new prospects, display new products and processes and otherwise market their business.

Tradeshow Attendees - Tradeshow Attendees are your prospects. They come to tradeshows and exhibits to talk to their peers, meet vendors, see new products and come away with new ideas. It's your job, as an exhibitor, to impress them.

Window Panel - Like our standard Flexi display, a window panel is a carpeted Flexi display panel with an appropriate sized window cut into it. This window can be used to house an LCD monitor, a lightbox or another effect.

Video Panel - Similar to a window panel, a video panel is a section cut from a standard panel to allow an LCD monitor or LCD television to fit inside.
