When General Motors came to us to build a display for their new
Corvette, we knew that we had to show off a work of art that thousands
of people would be seeing. The Corvette has a long tradition of being
the premiere american sports car, and with the release of the Z06, a
new legacy was born. With an upgraded suspension, a stunning new body
style and more horsepower than ever, the new Corvette lived up to it's
tagline, 'We do curves right."
We built the display both to be a lobby display for general motors
headquarters and also to use at events that demonstrated the Corvette.
The graphics in the middle are of a the corvette's familiar red tail
lights and emblem. We used a blurred foreground to show the corvette
rocketting forward. For both the side signs, we created a bubble effect
from transparencies with the Corvette logo layed over a front image of
the new car.
Two 19" LCD Televisions were set up with DVD players to show more
video of the corvette in time trails and during road testing. A single
pedestal was used in the front to show off a 1/10th model of the
Corvette that General Motors had used during the design process.
Between the signage and the video, those who saw the display were just
as impressed with how we marketed the Corvette as the Corvette itself.
